A new year is upon us, and we are starting it the right way at the Inn on the Square with our Ginuary celebrations. Gone are the days of a gloomy January, because Ginuary is the perfect way to make this first month go a little bit smoother.
The earliest printed recipe for Gin in its primitive form dates back to the 16th Century and the spirit quickly rose to fame in London in the 18th Century gaining its illustrious reputation. However, we have come a long way from the dark back alley drinking holes in the capital. Gin is now more global and celebrated than ever with different varieties, serves, and cocktails to suit any palette making now the time to start or expand on your Gin adventure.

At Inn on the Square this month we are celebrating Gin in all its forms, from the perfect classic G&T with your choice of over 25 Gins, and a wide selection of tonics to new and exciting Gin cocktails mixed with a few classics for all you traditionalists out there.
Our first feature cocktail for the month is our ‘Bedrock Lemontea’. Made with a fantastic premium Lake District Gin: Bedrock London Dry Gin. A fantastic Gin made with a unique blend of 11 botanicals distilled with Cumbrian kiln-dried oak bark. We combine this with green tea, limoncello and maple syrup, shake it over ice and serve with a great Fentimans tonic to seal the deal. Perfect refreshment.

If you are passionate about Gin or just keen to learn more we have a special event on Sunday the 15th of January, Vince Wilkins from Bedrock Gin will be at the Inn on the Square Bar at 4 PM to give a great talk and answer any questions you might have about the spirit. This is a great chance to come and down and see a great speaker for free.
Whenever you pop down to the bar over Ginuary you can rest assured all your Gin needs will be catered for with a great selection of Gins and for all you sweet tooth’s out there you can even enjoy a slice of Gin and tonic cake.
